What is your name, and what R/C classes do you race?

My name is Daryl Dawkins, and I race 1/10th scale offroad and dirt oval on various surfaces (carpet/turf/loose dirt/packed clay). I primarily run 4WD buggy, 2WD Short Course, and 2WD buggy. On dirt oval, I run buggy-based street stock class.

For how long have you been in R/C?

I have been into RC and the bashing side of things for well over 30 years, but only in the last two and half years have I decided to try racing, as it was a childhood dream I never got to experience.

What do you enjoy the most about the R/C Experience?

What I enjoy most about RC racing is the technical aspect of trying to figure out setups for a particular track or surface, hanging out with other people who enjoy doing the same, and living out my childhood fantasies of being an actual race car driver to some degree.

What R/C racing skills transfer into your personal life?

As I get older, the intense pace of racing helps me to exercise my reflexes and hand/eye coordination, allowing me to maintain some degree of mental and physical coordination. Plus, marshaling is the only exercise I get during the week.

Are you currently supported or sponsored by any R/C Company?

Yes, I am currently sponsored by Rawspeed and Stickit 1 racing.
